Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive, complementary therapy. It is suitable for almost everyone. There are very few conditions where reflexology is not appropriate. But if you do have any concerns please get in touch to discuss them.
Not at all. Reflexology is typically deeply relaxing. Some areas may feel slightly tender, which can indicate areas of tension, but I always work within your comfort level. Even if you have ticklish feet, reflexology feels completely different. Reflexology touch is purposeful, which means your feet are unlikely to react the same way as they would to a light touch. Many clients contact me thinking they will be too ticklish for reflexology and are surprised by how non-ticklish and relaxing reflexology is.
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. You only need to remove your shoes (and socks for foot reflexology). Loose, relaxed clothing is ideal, as reflexology is all about helping you unwind.
Your first session starts with a consultation where we’ll chat about your lifestyle, diet, medical history, and any specific concerns you’d like to address. This helps me understand how best to tailor the treatment to your needs. For foot reflexology, you’ll remove your shoes and socks, and lie in a comfortable position. I’ll start by gently warming up your feet before working on specific reflex points, using tailored techniques to support your needs. The session is designed to be calming and restorative. Many clients even drift off to sleep.
Most people leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more refreshed. Some feel deeply relaxed, while others feel re-energised. Occasionally, you may experience temporary detox effects like increased thirst, sleepiness, or mild headaches - this is your body’s natural way of rebalancing.
This depends on the individual needs. We can discuss a treatment plan that will work for you at your first session. Reflexology has a cumulative benefit, so I always encourage my clients to have regular reflexology sessions.
